Solo Exhibition - Cultivator at Bray Grove Farm
Monday, Memorial Day, May 28, 2018, 2-5pm. Please rsvp.

Cultivator is pleased to present a solo exhibition by C. C. Ann Chen at Bray Grove Farm. Chen will install new mixed media "drawings" in our second floor space, influenced by her observations of the landscape. Through her observations of light, color, place, and time, she collages paper, line, and texture into quietly intense assemblages.

Please rsvp and join us on Monday, Memorial Day, May 28th from 2-5pm for art and conversation. Bray Grove Farm is located 70 miles southwest of Chicago in Grundy county. To confirm your attendance and receive directions and parking information, email.

C. C. Ann Chen is a Chicago, Illinois based artist and educator. She is interested in subtle disruptions of the conventional and familiar. Her work stems from architecture and landscape, and explores perceptual translations and misinterpretations of place, time, memory, and history. Recent work has been in response to journeys by sea, to remote places in the North Atlantic and Arctic.

Chen has participated in exhibitions in numerous Chicago venues, including slow gallery, Heaven Gallery, Glass Curtain Gallery at Columbia College, Research House for Asian Art, Zhou B. Art Center, Hyde Park Art Center, The Bike Room, and Beverly Arts Center. Chen earned a BA in Architectural History from the University of Maryland, and a MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is currently Adjunct Associate Professor in the Liberal Arts Department and Arts Administration and Policy at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
